Naples Florida Veterans Day Events

veterans dayAs we prepare for the 2013 Veterans Day it is important to remember the many Veterans who live in Naples Florida and the amazing contributions they have made to our independence and safety.  If you are looking for interesting things to do here is a look at some of the events taking place in Naples Florida on November 11, 2013.

November 11, 2013 Veterans Day Events

10am  Cambier Park – a Veterans Memorial Service will be held beginning at 10am.

11:45 am Naples Depot – beginning immediately after the Cambier Park Service the Naples Depot annual USO show gets underway.  Faithfully recreating the sights and sounds of the big bands of the 1940’s enjoy an afternoon of music and memories and maybe do some dancing!  A special ceremony and opening address honors veterans from all of America’s armed conflicts.  Look forward to entertainment by Judy Garland, Marlene Dietrich, the Andrew Sisters and the smooth sounds of early Motown.  Check out the Collier Museum website for more information on this and many other events happening in Collier County throughout the year.

Museum of Military Memorabilia – open 10 am to 4pm  at the Naples Airport Commercial Terminal.  Visit the museum website for more information.  At 1:30 pm they are offering a guest speaker Darren Moran, The 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment in WW11.  The national anthem will be played at 10:50 am followed by the ringing of the bell on the 11th day of the 11th month at 11 am to publicly recognize and honor veterans past and present.

The City of Bonita Springs will hold its Annual Veterans Day Service at 11am at Riverside Park.  It will be your last opportunity to see the American Veterans Travelling Tribute and the Vietnam Travelling Wall that is on display at the park and will be dismantled after the service.

Thank you to all our veterans who keep us safe and allow us to enjoy our freedom.  We appreciate your service to our wonderful country.
