Al Fresco Dining on 5th Avenue!

I recently had the opportunity to meet friends at Bistro 821 on 5th Avenue.  After many years of living in this city this was only my second opportunity to enjoy the trendy bistro and enjoy it I certainly did!

For once I am not going to talk about the happy hour as I have not had the chance to try that yet, although I hear it is amazing and I imagine it will be a future post.  This time I went all out and enjoyedbistro821 a leisurely dinner with my friends.  The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable with banquettes along the wall and room to move between the tables.  Although noisy with other diners enjoying themselves, it was easy to converse with the people at my table and nice to feel that you were not being overheard by those around you.

The owners describe their menu as natural fusion with innovative entrees fusing Asian, European and domestic flavors.  The emphasis is on natural and fresh produce available in the area.  One of my dinner companions started out with the Earth and Sea Chile Relleno which is garlic shrimp, spiced beef and mozzarella cheese wrapped in Puff Pastry.  She has been to the restaurant a number of times and this is her favorite appetizer.  The other guest had grilled Jumbo Shrimp and they were among the largest shrimp I have ever seen.  I was not as adventurous but the Caesar salad I ordered was fresh and delicious.  Main courses were seafood risotto for me, Sea Bass and lobster tail and grilled jumbo shrimp for my guests.  They both enjoyed the Creme Brulee for dessert.

We all agreed that it was a great meal with a wonderful ambiance and a very enjoyable evening.  You can choose to sit outside and watch the sunset over 5th Avenue, or if it is too hot, dine inside in the tastefully decorated dining room.  Either way I know you will enjoy your meal and the excellent service at Bistro 821.

Remember, it is always toasty in Naples and you deserve your piece of Naples sunshine and dining al fresco on 5th Avenue!
